So online marketing nowadays is not about having a million dollars, its now about being smart and quick on your feet.
If you watched the 2013 Superbowl then you know that the Ravens were not the big winners.  No Sir.  In Social Media, the big winner was Oreo.  During the game, there was an unexpected blackout out that lasted over 30 minutes and Oreo cashed in on the blackout with this ad.

There were other brands that followed suit, but Oreo was by far the winner!  So many Users started retweeting it and talking about it for days on end, which meant free advertising for Oreo!  Sorry to steal your thunder Ravens, but congrats on a great win!
Granted, Oreo had an entire Marketing Agency behind it, yet I honestly think someone (an individual with enough passion for their business) could have pulled off something like this.
