High Quality Scores

PPC or Pay-Per-Click is the Sponsored Ads of Google / Bing.  It is the main revenue stream of the Search Engines.  Google and Bing make millions of dollars per minute on these platforms and they both have a common objective:  to be able to satisfy a User’s inquiry!   It’s a very simply objective really, a search engines primary goal is to help Users find answers to questions.   This leads us to Quality Score.  What is it and why should you care?

Website Quality Score

A websites quality score is so important in a PPC Campaign because it determines if you are overpaying for clicks.   The search engines have a guideline for Quality Score and it would suit your PPC Campaign to read it thoroughly and understand it before running a PPC Campaign.  Here is Bing’s Quality Score guidelines.

Summary of Quality Score:

  • A web page is given a score of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest
  • If your web page is able to satisfy a User’s question then you will pay less per click
  • If your web page is able to satisfy a User’s query then your Ad will have better positions
  • The quality score is a general metric of your Ad’s overall performance in the auctions

Two Main Platforms of PPC

There are only 2 major Search Engines:  Google Adwords and Bing Ads

Google Adwords:  Adwords, on the surface, looks simple enough.  In fact Google does provide a step-by-step feature on how to set up an Ad Campaign within a few minutes.

Bing Ads:  Bing Ads also provides instructions on how to start your Ad campaign quickly enough.

If your budget is less than $500 per month, I would suggest that you do an hour consult with a PPC Expert before you begin.  This will ensure that you are maximizing every cent of that $500.  If your budget is atleast $1000 per month, it would serve you better to get your Campaign set up by a PPC Expert.  Ehem.
