This helps protect our clients’ websites and ensures that the server environments stay safe and secure.

What’s Included in This Year’s Update

We are updating:

The CMS (WordPress or Joomla) to the most stable and secure version available
All plugins, including security plugins, core functionality plugins, and any custom-developed plugins
Each site will be thoroughly tested after the update to ensure it is functioning correctly

Latest Versions Being Installed

For WordPress sites, we are updating to version 6.8 “Cecil” (released in April 2025), which includes essential security patches, performance enhancements, and editor improvements.

For Joomla sites, we are updating to version 5.0.4, which offers backend performance upgrades, SVG improvements, and bug fixes.

Password Resets Required

After the updates, clients will be required to reset their backend (admin) passwords. This added step is part of our standard security protocol, and we recommend choosing strong, unique passwords.

Update Timeline

We will be doing the CMS Update activity during the entire month of June, 2025. If any client would like to schedule a specific window for their update, we encourage them to get in touch directly.
