I've been an SEO Professional for over 12 years now.  As an SEO Agency Owner for over 8 of those years. Prior to the release of ChatGPT, I was always on Google doing research and analysis.  Since I started using ChatGPT, I've only been to Google to verify a Company's URL.   I have, in fact, effectively rendered Google as the new Yellow Pages.  Oh wait, since ChatGPT's data stops in 2021, I have also used Google's data for more recent years.

One thing is apparent to me, ChatGPT isn’t going to replace all Digital Marketeers. The keyword is, “all.” ChatGPT works on the strength of the User’s knowledge.  Without a descriptive question, ChatGPT is going to generate general information — information that Users already know.  Sure, ChatGPT can create sentences better than the average person but a knowledgeable Digital Marketer is going to be irreplaceable in the age of AI.

Below are the prompts from me, a digital marketeer and the replies from ChatGPT.  Here is how I am using and benefiting from the data that ChatGPT provides.  It’s important to note that ChatGPT will not provide actionable responses without knowledgeable questions.

In the article that ChatGPT wrote for the keyword, “cayman islands beachfront property” — its reads like a generic piece and I don’t believe that it would be beneficial for content on a landing page as it is, it will need revisions.

ChatGPT’s recommendation for a keyword with low competition and high conversion rates is spot on and my client’s website is already #2 for that keyword.
